Roles and Responsibilities:An Interior Designer’s day-to-day tasks are varied and call for a blend of creative, technological and organisational skills. These duties may include:
Ensure the most efficient utilization of the building space by developing new or modified layouts to improve the view and space management . Shall be required to act as a project co-ordinator on assigned projects and direct or supervise the activities of interior design team at site with consultants and contractors,
Conducts preliminary studies and evaluations of projects to determine interior and design requirements.
Prepares requisitions for the purchase of furniture and equipment.
May direct or supervise the work of interior work team, consultants and draftsmen on assigned projects.
Supervising and inspecting the work in progress undertaken by contractors or other related duties as assigned in connection with site interior co-ordination.
Meeting with clients and other tradespeople such as architects or builders to discuss the needs of the client.
Estimating costs and submitting quotes for client approval.
Inspecting and supervising the work of tradespeople to ensure that quality and safety standards, costs and deadlines are met.
Co-ordinating with concern other departments for the timely execution of work at site.
Monitoring the site requirements and co-ordinating with office with regard to materials supply and other necessary arrangements.
